Weird

I had the most odd thing happen to me at the Social Security office today. I was sitting there listening to the numbers being called when this woman walked up beside me. Jerry had just abandoned me to go check that the meter was not out of time so his chair was vacant. I thought she was wanting to sit down, but instead she started yelling at me for looking at her. Saying something about me not being "NO SKINNY BITCH" and about me hogging the chair. Now anyone that knows me knows without my glasses anything beyond my fingertips is a blur. She was that ......a BIG blur, until I put on my glasses and she became the biggest "bubble butt" I have ever seen. I was relieved when she shuffled off grousing under her breath about "Fat Bitches." I wonder if she has looked in the mirror lately. I mean she made at least two of me from the waist down, maybe three.

Swap things I have been working on

Here it is the 27th of Jan. Usually by now I have half my Christmas cards made for next Christmas. I didn't this past Christmas and it seems I will not this year. Hmmmmm, I seem to be slipping. I have however been creating some interesting things for my upcoming swaps.

Envelopes for my  Make An Envelope - B swap. Three with representation of the letter "B" and one for Valentine's Day. I am including a blank Valentine.

For the FCMA: Go Green Mail Art an envelope made from recycled paper from other projects. Add a little ink and a bit of Washi tape and  . . . . . . . well I think it is pretty good.

For my Drink Package Postcard I used the labels from bottle water affixed to cardstock.
I added a bit of sparkly confetti to simulate the carbonation.
I made these in anticipation of  Make An Envelope - C, however the next scheduled swap in that group will be  Make An Envelope - C - D - E so I have to rethink a couple of these. (I think it is serendipidous that one of my penpals sent the cow Washi tape and one of the swap extras was little cow stickers and they are the same size so I could put the sticker over the tape for special effects.)

These are not really for any particular swap. One is a Valentine skinny I made as a back-up because I thought the one I sent was lost in the mail. The other a Valentine ATC using my last bit of  heart  molded paper from my daughter's wedding announcements. (I need to go make some more paper.)
So you can see I have been busy, just not with Christmas cards.

Gnomes at it again!

Søren and Wally call these 3 "frozen" gnomes. I keep trying to tell them they are not frozen but the brothers think that is the only explanation for their immobility.

Søren and Wally each chose an end to pose on this gnome. He too is a "frozen" gnome to them. To me he is just a cute Christmas present from my son.

Malware is yucky

I managed to get the nasty stuff off the Google browser but cannot find the tools to get it off the Explorer browser. If only hubby didn't use it I would wipe it off the computer.

Nasty Malware

I got some nasty malware on my computer and now I cannot access Google to look for things. My searches are going through Yahoo who have about 1/5 the resources Google does. What perplexes me is that my Anti-Malware has quarantined this whatever it is numerous times and now it let one through. What is with that?

Swaps are not always perfect

When I discovered my partner sending me 5 notecards in a recent swap lived in Japan, I was thrilled. I expected to get something exotic but instead I got cards you could buy in a local Target®. Do not get me wrong, they were lovely and obviously picked out to match my tastes. They were just not Japanese and that was what I had hoped for.
The swap did say that any writing on the card needed to be in English but...

Don't these just make you drool? They do me.

And these.....sigh....Oh well, I sent off some that I considered extra nice. I do hope the recipients do not feel let down and actually use them or collect them.

I thank my partner. I shall use the cards she sent and smile.
Actually this is better....if she had sent one of the above it would have gone into my stash to be taken out and admired and never used. This way I am hoarding less.

Sending out the snails

Today I sent out my 1st Swap-bot mailings of the year. Five overfilled envelopes fulfilling my obligation for 3 different swaps. I made the postal clerk put on individual stamps instead of those dreadful metered things. I think he went extra slow so as to make the other customers upset with me. I am buying those stamps so I should have a right to have them put on seeing as he would not let me affix them myself. I did not take any extra pictures as I did not want to spoil the surprises. Let us hope the snails are speedy.
